Eren Yeager begins life as the son of Grisha and Carla Yeager living in the Shiganshina District which is situated along the southern outskirts of Wall Maria. However he is quickly displaced when in 845 the Colossal and Armored Titans attack the city and destroy the wall protecting the city within. As Eren is attempting to flee the city he witnesses his mother being devoured by a smiling Titan. Due to this event his hatred of the Titans becomes all-consuming and he vows to hunt down and destroy every Titan. He eventually joins the Survey Corps along with Mikasa Ackerman and his best friend Armin Arlert.
Mikasa Ackerman is the adoptive sister of Eren Yeager and is the main female character in the Attack on Titan series. As the story unfolds we bear witness to the heart wrenching story of how Mikasa became an orphan. Fortunately she was spared the fate that her parents suffered and was rescued by Eren. Although in her heart she only wants to find peace she reluctantly follows Eren and joins the Survey Corps. Interestingly though she is the top of her class in the 104th Trainees Squad and still considered one of the best soldiers during her time in the Survey Corps.
While Attack on Titan has found its way into the main stream media, it has found a loving home among the hearts of cosplayers everywhere. The VME system allows them to jump from walls or trees and move great distances quickly.
