Cosplay has become an international phenomenon and popular worldwide with more and more young people join. It used to be that cosplayers would attend fan events like Comic-Con in small numbers hoping to connect with other superfans who liked to dress up as their favorite characters.
Now thousands of Cosplayers pour into conventions and other events every year and thousands more fans come to see them. Some of the Cosplay genres even have their own specific conventions throughout the year. Every year around the time of Comic-Con, which is the biggest con in the nation, major news outlets start to run photos of the elaborate costumes and scenes staged by Cosplayers.
Along with other events like panels and meet and greet sessions many cons now feature Cosplay contests where fans can win money and prestige for having the best costume.
As a teen and adult, and you get to pick which character you want to be. It’s like choosing who you want to be for a couple hours, a day, or a weekend. You get to bring a character to life and act like them, pretend to be them for a little while if you want, and still be yourself.
And no matter what you look like in real life, you have people complimenting you and getting excited about who you are going as. It’s like being a celebrity for a few hours and then being able to be you again afterwards. That’s the real appeal. It’s also downright fun. You can just thought that you have this costume where the character you were dressing up as had feather ears.
It’s very fun to be someone else, but it’s also fun to show off your work. I can make your friends great costumes or the accessories you need and this will surely bring all of you best weekends or days ever. You can also have something about participating in a huge fandom that is just pure fun.
