Plot of LoveLive!: Honoka Kōsaka is a girl who loves her school, Otonokizaka Academy. When the school is planned to be closed down due to a lack of applicants, Honoka becomes determined to save it. Learning that school idols are popular, Honoka and her friends start up a school idol group called “μ’s” (pronounced muse) in order to attract new students. Once they successfully prevent Otonokizaka Academy from closing, the girls from μ’s aim for higher grounds and participate in “Love Live”, the ultimate school idol competition featuring the best groups in the country. Despite winning the competition, the girls from μ’s disband soon after for their own personal reasons.
Love Live Sunshine!! is set in another school, the ocean-side Uranohoshi Girls’ Academy, which is passing by the same peril as Otonokizaka Academy used to, until Chika Takami, a huge fan of μ’s, decides to follow their example and gathers friends to form another group called “Aqours” (pronounced aqua) for the sake of their school as well.(Source:Wikipedia)

How other people think about Love Live!

Hamelin: The animation is good and expresses the girls’ cuteness! The design of the characters tell a lot about their personalities. My most favorite character would be Kotori and Maki. So let me just give two words to each character that describes them. Honoka: determined and cute, Kotori: daydreamer and kind, Maki: distant and talented, Umi: logical and fit, Niko: cute and vain, Nozomi: wise and perverted, Eri: a leader and stubborn, Rin: sporty and energetic, and Hanayo: shy and quiet.
I like the music so far, but, to me, none of them have surpassed the music video songs. But I do love the opening song (Bokura wa Ima no Naka de) and the recent song No Brand Girls. Unfortunately, A-Rise’s (a different school idol group in the anime) “Private Wars” has been the best idol song in the anime so far. All-in-all, I really enjoy this anime, and always look forward to watch it after I come home from school. The only thing that it needs is guys and romance!!

Angelwing: LoveLive! is full of music and friendship! The music in both of the teams are very catchy, and get stuck in my head constantly. Even the lovable characters seem to have some resemblance to one another… Such as Yoppi & Umi and Hanayo & Airi. They follow around the plot of young idols trying to make it to stardom, but WUG is a bit more “life like” than Love Live, though. Both are excellent, and I highly recommend them.

AlexChanUnlock: LoveLive! is a great anime about highschool students wanting to be popstars! If you liked Pitch Perfect, you’ll love this anime because it is exactly like it. Each character in the group is very likeable and each one offers a fresh look on the popstar image that is very popular in Japan.

AiYumega: Muse in Love Live! is a group you want to root for, and you do despite all the trials and tribulations they encounter, mainly because the characters develop naturally and are just so likable, even the token tsundere in Maki-chan. Besides the characters development and overall likability, the music to this is just really, really catchy, and I still listen to it even after finishing the series months ago. In all, Love Live! is as adorable as it is well done. It’s simple to make a half done idol anime, but this was fleshed out fully, as evident in the plot, character development, and the way it ended. I genuinely liked it, and guarantee you’ll be saying “NICO NICO NII” by the time you’re done watching it.
