Green Arrow is a fictional superhero who is really popular for many years. As the fourth season kicks off, we have reached a point where any given villain is either a metahuman or a mystical warrior, where one of Oliver Queen’s best friends is the fastest man alive, where the current issues with Thea might have something to do with the lingering after-effects of, you know, her resurrection. Team Arrow lives in a city just renamed to the comic book-approved Star City in honor of a dead man who we are going to go ahead and guess survived that explosion by shrinking himself, considering he’s got an appointment to keep with the show’s next spin-off.

Big changes are coming for Arrow Season 4, especially for main protagonist Oliver Queen. When he’s fighting new bad guys and delving into strange phenomena later this year, he won’t be doing it as The Hood/Arrow. After three seasons, he is finally embracing his comic book roots and becoming Green Arrow. Whether you’re a comic book fan who is happy that he’s finally using a comic book identity or a regular viewer who doesn’t quite know what to make of it, this is by far the biggest adjustment to Oliver’s crimefighting identity in the three years Arrow has been on the air.
