It seems like fans will still have to wait for a long while before they finally get to see a fresh episode of “Attack on Titan.” Series director Tetsuro Araki talked about the delayed release of the second season of the anime during the press conference for the “Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow” live-action film.

According to the director, there are a lot of things happening in the “Attack on Titan” franchise this year, which is why the second season for the anime was pushed back to 2016. They also have to delay it because Hajime Isayama‘s best-selling Japanese manga series on which the anime is based is lacking a two-story arc, which makes it impossible for Araki to come up with a new season.

Previously, “Attack on Titan” season 1 managed to cover the manga’s first 34 chapters. It means that the anime already showed the four-story arc of Isayama’s masterpiece, including “The Fall of Shiganshina,” “104th Trainees Squad,” “Battle of Trost District,” and “The Female Titan.”
